There are a few very important things that you should attend to, sooner rather than later after the divorce. 

Your will should be revised once the divorce is over. You might consider changing the beneficiaries named in assurance policies after the divorce.

If the divorce was acrimonious, and if children are involved, strive to restore at least cordial communication with your ex. Remember, your marriage may be over but the children born of the marriage need both of you – they have been through a much tougher time.
